Tapir processing techniques
Laser cutting
With this cutting technique we use a strong light source that burns or melts the material. We can cut any desired shape with great ease with a laser. We can quickly change the layout. We upload a new drawing and are ready to go! Laser cutting makes it possible to produce very small quantities and this technique is very suitable for sampling and zero series.
Based on a calculation, we can determine in advance which production method is best to use: lasering, rotational or flat punching. Die-cutting requires slightly more start-up costs than laser cutting, but economically speaking requires less labor. On average, the turning point is at a production run of 5,000 copies.
We can laser cut almost any material. However, there are a few exceptions: metallic and PVC. These materials are not suitable for processing on our lasers.
